CURATOR’S VIEW: The artwork titled "Blocks" presents a geometric abstract composition with a structured arrangement of shapes and colours. It features a series of rectangular blocks or bars, neatly organized in a grid-like pattern. The colour palette consists predominantly of shades of blue, ranging from light to dark, interspersed with contrasting blocks of yellow, red, and green, adding vibrancy and visual interest to the piece. This use of primary colours and geometric forms is reminiscent of the De Stijl movement and artists like Piet Mondrian. The artwork conveys a sense of order and balance, with a playful interaction between the colours and the negative space. With a savvy mixture of acrylic and IPA, the execution suggests a “water-stain” effect, emphasizing the clean lines and solid colours without the distraction of gloss or shine.

ARTIST’S CONCEPT: In this abstract geometric painting, I poured my soul into creating a symphony of stained shapes and hues. With each brushstroke and blend, I sought to encapsulate emotions that transcend words, offering a visual whisper of serenity and introspection. Embracing the acrylic medium, I layered colours and forms to invoke a sense of calm complexity. Imbue your space with the quiet energy and contemplative aura this piece exudes.
