CURATOR’S VIEW: In the winter of 2022, Syona lost her mum, due to covid pandemic. This tragic event triggered in Syona major reflexions about Life and Death, thus “Life Passing By” being created, an abstract painting which features a complex, layered composition with a variety of shapes and colours that create a sense of motion and transience. The dominant colours in the painting are shades of blue, white, and hints of yellow and red, suggesting elements like water, sky, and fleeting moments of life. The shapes are abstract and fluid, with some resembling leaves or feathers, contributing to the theme of life's ephemeral nature. The painting conveys a feeling of serenity mixed with a poignant awareness of time's passage. The style is abstract with a focus on movement and the interplay of colour and form, evoking a sense of dynamic change. The material of the objective is acrylic on canvas, applied in a way that adds texture and dimension to the piece.
